With 2025 well underway and April in full swing, it’s time to recognize a standout figure in the Tibia community. In this edition of Player of the Month, we celebrate Sabarath, a player whose dedication, consistency, and passion have made him a role model both in-game and beyond.
Sabarath has found a remarkable balance between personal progress and community contribution. As an active player and content creator, he has documented his journey through posts that inspire, inform, and motivate others. His feats are not only individual achievements but also valuable lessons that enrich the collective experience of the Tibian community.
One of his main focuses has been the Bestiary, a system that represents one of the game’s most complex challenges. So far, he has completed 573 out of approximately 764 available creatures—around 75% of the entire Bestiary. An impressive accomplishment that showcases not only commitment but also knowledge and strategy.
Sabarath’s progress across the different difficulty categories is equally noteworthy:
- Harmless (20/20): 100% completed. These creatures pose no threat but contribute to the total.
- Trivial (44/44): Also at 100%, consisting of aggressive but low-threat creatures.
- Easy (153/159): Nearly 96% completed, with only a few entries remaining.
- Medium (254/308): At 82%, showing admirable consistency in the face of tougher challenges.
- Hard (102/184): Over half of this demanding category is already conquered.
- Challenging: Yet to be started, marking his next major in-game goal.
He has also made significant progress in various creature classes, reaching high completion percentages in several:
- Aquatic: 29/40
- Demon: 29/42
- Human: 64/74
- Humanoid: 77/91
- Magical: 42/69
With over 14,000 Charm Points, Sabarath has far exceeded the amount required to unlock all charms, solidifying his status as a completionist and underscoring his commitment to every facet of the game.
Beyond the statistics, Sabarath also stood out in prestigious events, such as his victory in The Great Boss Hunt in October 2023, where he managed to loot a pair of double golden boots from the boss Zugurosh in Venebra. That same year, he shared the capture of Elvira Hammerthrust on social media, solidifying his reputation as an elite hunter and deepening his connection with the community
However, his impact goes far beyond achievements. Through advice, guides, and personal reflections, he has helped enhance the game experience for many players. His content serves as a bridge between newcomers and veterans, and his consistent presence on social media is a source of motivation and learning. Sabarath is a clear example that playing Tibia goes beyond leveling up or collecting achievements—it’s about sharing the journey, growing alongside others, and actively contributing to a community that, like him, continues to find reasons to log in every day.
From Tibia Goals, we invite you to get to know his story more closely. In this special edition, we’ve prepared a series of questions to explore his mindset, motivations, and the secrets behind his success. Because if there’s one thing Sabarath has made clear, it’s that true progress is built step by step… and it’s meant to be shared.
Sabarath, to start things off, how would you describe your journey in Tibia over the years?
Hi Artemihza, Tibia Goals! 😄 My journey in Tibia has always been full of discovery, roleplay, and a lot of fun. I started in 2003 as a kid, and one of my first adventures led me to a Fire Devil… I died, went back to retrieve my backpack, and died again. Classic! That was my first "retirement" 😂 At that time, even though I had little experience, I created a Flogão to share my adventures. I think that’s when my content creator side first emerged.
I came back in 2013 with the first Sabarath, a Royal Paladin with my first premium account, but the bot infestation discouraged me. It wasn’t until 2022 that I made a real return, this time as a Master Sorcerer, more involved than ever. And years later, I got the name “Sabarath” back!
What initially attracted you to the game? How did you start playing Tibia?
What drew me in the most was the chance to connect with other players. I didn’t have broadband back then, and being a kid, I couldn’t use dial-up very often. But at my dad’s job, there were computers, and I discovered Tibia because it was lightweight and ran on any machine. It was love at first sight! Knowing I was connected to people from other parts of the world felt amazing.
What were some of the hardest moments you experienced in-game, like those deaths by Fire Devils? How did you overcome them and keep going?
One of the early challenges was communication. I didn’t understand English, and when players typed “offer,” I thought they meant “after”... I assumed they wanted to do it later! 😅 Took me days to realize it was an offer.
A more recent challenge was Soulwar. I chose not to use macros or pay for services, and gathering a team willing to face the challenge was tough. We studied it, gave it a shot, but couldn’t progress and the team disbanded.
You mentioned being a “completionist.” What does that mean to you in Tibia, and how does it influence your role play?
I love ticking things off lists—bestiaries, boostiaries, quests, achievements… Seeing the overall progress percentage rise keeps me motivated. I’ve currently completed about 61% of the game’s content, and there’s still plenty left! My playstyle revolves around that. Many of my daily decisions are based on what I haven’t completed yet. I usually start the day by checking available hunting tasks. Sometimes I repeat something, but other times I use it as an opportunity to explore a new hunting spot. And if it lines up with a Bestiary entry—even better!
What motivated you to return to the game in 2022 after being away for a while? What made it the right time to come back?
It was a way to escape. I was stressed with work and building my house. Tibia became a way to unwind. And then, of course, I got hooked again 😅 Watching YouTube videos rekindled my curiosity about how the game had evolved.
You spoke about your passion for documenting discoveries in the game, especially the Monk update. What keeps you motivated in Tibia?
Being part of an amazing team that lets me experience new content firsthand, test it, and explore it—that’s my biggest motivation. I feel truly privileged. On top of that, having the chance to document and share these discoveries with the community is just fantastic.
Venebra seems to be important to you. Why did you choose that server, and how has your experience been there?
I picked Venebra randomly. I wanted an Optional PvP server, and the name caught my eye because it started with the same letter as mine. I feel at home there. I have a good relationship with the dominant guild, and being recognized from Instagram means I get a lot of support, which helps with hunts and tasks. The market is active, chat channels are always buzzing, and there are always people to team up with. I really enjoy being there.
You mentioned working on the Antelope mount. How important are goals like that to you?
It’s a long-time dream. I like hard-to-get achievements that don’t rely on money. The Antelope mount demands dedication—you rarely see someone with it and the full outfit. Soon enough, I’ll be one of those few!
Do you have a specific goal you’d like to achieve in Tibia soon? How do you plan to reach it?
This year, my main goals are to complete Soulwar and progress with the Golden Outfit addons—hopefully even finish it.
For Soulwar, I need to gather a motivated team again and learn the mechanics of the fourth, fifth, and final boss rooms. Who knows? Maybe this interview will help me find some teammates 😄. As for the Golden Outfit, I’m hoping the Monk update revives the market for certain items and brings a rental opportunity similar to the Soul Core era—though I know that wave is unlikely to return. Still, these goals motivate me, but they don’t stop me from enjoying the game in a relaxed and fun way, just like I always have.
Do you have any fun or memorable stories related to the Bestiary or boss tasks to share?
An unforgettable one was doing Pits of Inferno and The Inquisition quests. Sabarath was my first character to reach level 100, and naturally, I did those quests with him. Our party decided to do it all without service; we were all around level 170. It was one of the most thrilling moments I’ve had in the game. Every step was carefully planned, using lots of bombs for protection. That experience motivated me to never pay for services and to face every challenge myself.
As the administrator of TibiaWikiBR, what’s the biggest challenge in keeping a Tibia wiki updated?
There are many! I structured my work into three pillars: team, community, and partners. With the team, the hardest part is keeping motivation high. We’re 11 members and only get 1k TC monthly from CipSoft—250 for me and 750 to split among up to three people. Thanks to sponsors, we’ve improved a bit. Even symbolic rewards, combined with my dedication, have brought great results—collaborations and edits have increased a lot.
With the community, the challenge is regaining trust. With over 16,000 pages, keeping them all updated is a constant job. We now focus on new content and reviewing quests affected by updates.
With partners, the goal is to deliver value and attract new ones. TibiaWikiBR is the most visited fansite, averaging 170,000 users monthly and over a million yearly. This makes us a great showcase. Thanks to our partners, we can reward contributors and offer community prizes whenever possible.
How do you balance life outside Tibia with your dedication to the game? Any advice for players also struggling to find balance?
I’m not the best example 😅 I spend a lot of time at the computer and have to stop myself from playing all day. I try to balance it with hobbies and activities outside the game—those naturally help keep things in check.
From your perspective, how has Tibia evolved since you started playing in 2003? What changes had the biggest impact on you?
The biggest change was hotkeys. I used to do everything with the mouse! Having shortcuts changed my life. Another big change was no longer needing to pick up spears from the floor. More recently, Quick Loot has been revolutionary—one of the best quality-of-life improvements.
You mentioned bots discouraged you in the past. How do you think the community and developers have dealt with this issue over time?
Bots were one of the main reasons I left the game. Over time, the community began to see the negative impact of cave bots, especially on the economy. Developers introduced macro tools that reduced botting in caves but led to automation in other areas. Still, I think with recent ban waves and CipSoft’s quality-of-life improvements, there’s hope the number of bots will keep dropping. Though honestly, they’ll probably always exist to some degree.
You’ve said you’re not “top” in any specific category but that you have a well-rounded character. How do you define success in Tibia without being the best at something?
If you’re having fun playing Tibia, you’re already successful. The game reflects who we are—if you play with joy, positivity, and peace of mind, you’ve already won. In a world that demands performance, finding joy is the real success.
Finally, to get to know you beyond Tibia: how has the game influenced your personal life or worldview?
Tibia taught me, among other things, that I’m quite anxious… haha. Jokes aside, Tibia is like a mini version of the real world. It helped me understand cultural diversity and deal with different opinions. It taught me empathy, solidarity, and the value of seeking the common good, even in a competitive setting.
Sabarath has become an extension of who I am. That’s why I deeply respect my audience. On Instagram, I rarely show anything personal—people follow me for Sabarath, and he’s the one who has captivated the community. That’s who needs to stay in the spotlight.
____________________________________________
Once again, we want to thank everyone who joins us each month for this section. You—who read, comment, and share these stories—are the heart of this community that remains alive and vibrant thanks to the love for Tibia.
And of course, a very special thank you to Sabarath—not only for his time and openness but for letting us into his journey with such honesty. His path is an inspiration to many, and his dedication to the game and the community reflects the best of the Tibian spirit.
See you in the next edition, Hail Tibia Goals!
