Lone Leech – Answer without assumptions: 19. Answer with assumptions: N is a natural number ≥ 19 with the constraint that it falls within the computing power of tibia.
Reasoning is below. 1. No assumptions With no assumptions and only counting the crates in the picture provided there is 19 full/partially crates. If you start making assumptions, then this task becomes a little more complicated. 2. Applying the assumption that for every raised crate in the picture that it is raised by another crate. If this is assumed, there are 23 boxes in total. If you do not make the above assumptions, then 19 ≤ N ≤ 23. For example, if one of the raised crates is elevated by something other than a crate, i.e. a trophy stand or uneven tibian surface. This would change the total number of crates. 3. Applying the assumption that the pixel line that is located on the right bottom edge of the crates is a separate box. Since the crates were cropped there was a pixel line left at the bottom right edge of a full crate which is part of another crate. This is evident on the crate in the second row and second stack. There is a brown pixel line that extends the length of the crate. If you include this crate given this assumption then it means that there is a crate there, then 20 ≤ N ≤ 23. One might argue that you also see this in the first row first stack. However, the stack is already 4 crates high and due to the fact that in tibia you can only stack a maximum of 4 crates on top of each other before they hide the one below then I would not count this. 4. Applying the assumption that there are more than 4 crates in the stack of 4. Given tibia only allows you to see 4 crates on a single sqm at a time. Given that one could stack boxes on a sqm and it still look like there is only 4 boxes on that sqm then it is difficult to given a single integer number as an answer. Say someone stack one more box so there was 5 boxes on that sqm but you only see 4. So this gives you an almost limitless number of boxes on that sqm. Or one would think. However, there are limits to programming and computing power so we do have restraints on the maximum number it could be. However, I don’t have the ability to calculate this number. So N is limited by the computing power of tibia before it crashes the client which I do not know what this number is.
So in short, without making any assumptions the answer is 19. If you use assumptions, then we should be able to use all assumptions that are reasonable and remain in the constraints of the photo provided. Then the answer is N is a natural number ≥ 19 with the constraint that it falls within the computing power of tibia. Given that I believe anyone that answered 23 is incorrect because I don’t think it was stated anywhere what we can assume.

ReplyDeleteAnswer without assumptions: 19.
Answer with assumptions: N is a natural number ≥ 19 with the constraint that it falls within the computing power of tibia.
Reasoning is below.
1. No assumptions
With no assumptions and only counting the crates in the picture provided there is 19 full/partially crates. If you start making assumptions, then this task becomes a little more complicated.
2. Applying the assumption that for every raised crate in the picture that it is raised by another crate.
