Winter Update 2021

The winter update of 2021 has been released! Next to other features which CipSoft has showcased before, this update brings you the brand-new Exaltation Forge. While they previously talked about how to get the necessary resources to use it, how the forge itself works has been shrouded in mystery – until now.

The Exaltation Forge offers players a way to upgrade weapons, armour, and helmets. Items can be increased in tiers, with the maximum number of tiers for an item being limited by its classification into one of four groups.

There are two ways to rank up an item to a higher tier. The first one requires two of the same items to be fused, in addition to a sum of gold (higher tiers demand higher prices), and 100 dust. Success of a fusion is not guaranteed – there is a possibility that the second item will be either reduced by one tier, or, in case it was a tier 0 item, it will be destroyed. Using exalted cores, the success of the operation can be increased, however, and the risk of losing a tier gets reduced, should the fusion fail.

The other way to increase an item's tier is by transferring a tier from another item of the same class. The target item, which is to receive the tier, has to be tier 0, while the source item, from which the tier is transferred, has to be at least tier 2. This process requires 100 dust, one exalted core, and a sum of gold. The transfer is guaranteed to succeed. The target item receives the source item's tier by a reduction of one tier, while the source item itself will be destroyed during the transfer.

Upgrading an item this way provides it with the new effects Onslaught (for weapons), Ruse (for armours), and Momentum (for helmets). A higher tier increases the trigger chance of these effects.

Since the introduction of the Exaltation Forge may have a noticeable impact on item prices, they have decided to cancel all market offers of weapons, armours, and helmets, so that sellers can re-evaluate the price they want to sell at. The market fee for these offers has been refunded. The price limit for a market listing has also been raised from 999,999,999 to 999,999,999,999.

New Decoration

New decorative items are now available in the Store. Do you hear the call of the sea and feel the urge to follow it? Have you ever dreamt of dwelling in the dark depths of the endless blue, and rather than experiencing horror, felt a serene tranquillity? Then you might want to decorate your home with the Kraken Furniture, which includes the Kraken Chair, Kraken Table, Kraken Cabinet, and Kraken Chest, to give your abode a maritime look.

	The Kraken Watcher Lamp has two big, bright eyes which illuminate its surroundings and keep watch on your guests – just in case.
	Strong tentacles, which seemingly come out of nowhere, provide a stable structure for the Kraken Tentacle Lamp.
	While it may seem really cluttered in one moment, it takes only another moment to clean up the Kraken Shelf.
	The Kraken Bed provides deep, silent sleep, as if you were at the bottom of the ocean.
	An Octoputz is a diligent little helper who does their very best to keep your rooms neat and tidy.
	Have you been inspired by the hardworking nature of your octopian friend? Then placing a Sculpture of an Octoputz in your home might be in order.

When bought, these items are directly delivered to you as decoration kits, which can be unwrapped inside your house. The unwrapped decoration items are non-takeable and also indestructible.

Target Highlight, Analyser Extension, and more

Next to the Exaltation Forge, the winter update will bring you a number of other features as well:

Are you wondering how big an impact your current XP bonuses actually have on your hunt? To remove any guesswork and manual calculation in such a case, the XP Analyser and Hunt Analyser will receive entries for "Raw XP Gain" and "Raw XP/h". These show the XP gain and XP/h without any added bonuses such as stamina, prey, XP boosts, etc. This additional info can be toggled on and off via a new option in the analysers' settings.

Is it getting a bit too crowded at times on screen for you to see your current target? To add visual clarity, a red overlay will be added as indication, in addition to the already existing red frame. The options menu provides settings for using either only the new highlight, the old frame, or both at the same time.

Are silver and gold tokens piling up in your depot, with too few ways to spend them? Then you might be interested in a new majestic outfit, which costs a pretty penny: The Royal Costume will be available from Percybald in Carlin and Alyxo in Issavi, for the proud sum of 15,000 silver tokens and 12,500 gold tokens for the base outfit, and 7,500 silver tokens and 6,250 gold tokens for each addon. Like purchasing the Golden Outfit, this will secure you a spot on the memorial, and, for the full outfit, you receive a title as well. To allow such huge sums to be carried, the weight of silver and gold tokens has been reduced from 0.20 oz to 0.01 oz.

Do you have a wealth of mounts to ride, but are using only a small amount of them as switching between them seems like too much work? In this case, the new option "Randomise Mount" in the "Customise Character" outfit will come in handy. By ticking this checkbox, one of your mounts will be randomly selected once you mount. In general, if a character was mounted before a transformation, they will now be remounted automatically after the transformation, if mounting is possible.

The voting for the goals contest

Hey guys! We would want to invite you to vote for the top 5 in our goals contest. The voting takes place on discord in the #voting-goals channel. Read on to see more information about the voting!
You can find all the works in the #goals-contest channel.

We received a few complaints about people voting 5 mins after entering the discord, so we were thinking of a solution to the problem. So from today, in order to vote, you must have the DREAM CHASER rank. The rank will be given to everyone who is in the discord for 8-10 hours (The rank will be given to you within the 2 hours). We still have 5 days of voting remaining so you have a lot of time to vote, even if you are not on discord yet!

Voting rules

The entire community will be able to vote for their favorite works and choose the top 5 winners, out of which the TibiaGoals staff will choose 3 final winners.

1. The vote will only be valid if you choose at least two works, providing a short (at least 100 words) justification for each of the works (minimum 200 words in total then). In the comment you can write how this specific goal differs from others, why did you decide to choose it, how is it better than the others, etc.
2. Your critique should be sent on our discord server, in the channel #Voting-goals
3. Apart from the text, you also need to:
* Provide your character name
* The character has to be at least level 100
* The character cannot be hidden
* Add the names of the people you vote for
4. If we notice that there are comments which are identical or just slightly paraphrased, we will only count the first one as valid
5. If there will be 1 comment in a few language versions added by different players, we will also only count the first one as valid
6. The contestants can also participate in the voting, however, they cannot vote for their own story.
7. Your critique needs to have valid arguments, meaning you cannot say “I choose the work of the player X because its cool”
8. Your text can be written in English, Polish, Spanish or Portuguese.
9. You cannot use verbal attack towards participants. The language of your text has to be proper.
10. Every vote that will follow the rules participates in a lottery. The numbers will be given chronologically (eg. You posted the critique as 4th, your number in the lottery will be 4 and so on)
11. When the voting ends (5th December) we will proceed to count the votes, which means it might take us a few days to publish the top 5.

1st place - Choice between Snake God Trophy, Elven Trophy, and Badge of Glory

2nd place - Choice between the remaining two items

3rd place - The remaining item

The voting deadline:

21st November - 5th December (ends at server save!)

If you don’t know what criteria to consider while voting, we have listed a few aspects you might take into consideration in the process:

The goal:
1. The difficulty of the goal

2. The originality of the goal

3. The execution of the goal (whether it was fully completed or partly completed)

4. How many days it took

5. Whether the approach of reaching the goal was innovative

The presentation:

1. Original approach of presenting

2. The screenshots go well with the story

3. The language (correctness/various languages)

4. The general aesthetic of the presentation

5. Whether it was easy to follow and explained the goal well

To our belief, the goal should be more important than the presentation, however, we of course leave the opinion in your hands. 

*! Keep in mind that the contestants had to show us the proof by mail and they do not need to show all the requested screenshots in their final story! Every submission that made it to the #goals-contest channel is valid and the participants provided us with the screenshots on time.

*! It is normal that some of the goals might be posted by one of the admins. It was mentioned in >Q5< that in case the anonymous participants wouldn’t want to share their story to reveal their name, the TibiaGoals staff will do it for them.

Player of the Month #16: Dark Bombox

Our Player of the Month for November is Dark Bombox. The knight from Estela used to stream his adventures on Twitch, and now you can follow them on his Instagram account!

Could you introduce yourself? What’s your name, where are you from etc.?

-My name is Manel but everyone knows me as Bombox or like my characters name Dark Bombox. I’mfrom Barcelona, Spain. 

How did you start playing Tibia?

-I started playing Tibia when I was 13 years old because my neighbors invited me to play, actually one of them is a guild leader that is on war on the server Unica.

Is there any player who inspires you?

-Back then I used to get inspired by Runerf and Neoranga, both streamers from Spain, Neo for his charisma and for killing bots, he’s a funny and witty guy, just by seeing him play made me want to play, and Runerf is an example of EK and streamer for me, I’ve always had him as role model and I consider him a good friend. 

What made you wanna stream Tibia, do you plan to come back to streaming?

-I started years ago making FIFA videos, I used to edit and send them to my friends for fun, they encouraged me to start streaming Tibia. Right now I don’t play as much and when I play I like to watch a tv show or a movie and I can’t do that while streaming, now I play more relaxed. 

What is the rarest item you have ever looted?

-A Shield of Corruption, literally I looted it from the first lizard I killed haha!

-I never change my outfit so I’ll go with never change outfit

-Neutral

-Skills, I can get the level eventually so no worries

-Old school, everything was harder that’s why everything had more value, every level and death

Have an “exura” that cures you fully, or one hitting every monster?

-Exura that cures you fully, I wouldn’t have died many times with that spell haha! 

Rapid respawn or double experience?

-Double experiences because you also get doble skills, so I take the opportunity to skill too  

What’s your favorite quote from a song/book/movie? Why?

-My favorites books are from The Quest of Ewilan (a story like Narnia but they can create objects and changes from worlds just by using mind power), my favorite band is Estopa since I was little, but lately I’ve been listening to Nikone or SFDK but my favorito song is No Diggity by Backstreet, Dr Drew & Queen Pen. 

How many hours a day you spend playing Tibia? Would you want to play more/less?

-I usually just play the 3 green hrs or maybe less, 2 refills aprox. Many times I’ve done 10 or 12 hrs hunt, while I’m watching a movie or a tv show, but rarely. I think with 3hrs daily I can level up and I won’t get bored with the game.

Do you think that CipSoft should continue upgrading Rookgaard?

-Rookgard should be like it was before, more difficulty, more quests and mainly with new lores. It’s such a pity that the new players doesn’t know nothing about Rookgard.  

What goes first, milk or cereal?

-The milk, because I can eat more cereal and add more and more and still be crunchy! Muahaha! 

Give a 1-sentence advice to someone who wants to start playing EK

-A good spells rotation combined with health potions, u waste less mana and you can use more offensive spells, not because you use more exuras you’ll rank more. 

Do you have any encouraging words to the community?

-Please, stop being toxic and start enjoying the game, I can be against one player and not because he/she kills me more than I kill him or viceversa, im going to start talking about that person, that’s what the game is about, level up, questing, war, skills etc, but if you can’t enjoying the game without insulting someone you better uninstall Tibia <3
